Camps are ½ day sessions and participants can choose to come for 1 or 2 weeks!
All camp participants will get the opportunity to perform for a live audience in Bobcaygeon this summer!
The Downtown Detective Trail is an annual summer event and we’re excited to bring this family friendly activity back to Bobcageyon!
Our Summer Performance Camp will teach youth participants about the rehearsal & creative process in theatre as well as performing live for an audience. We are delighted to offer a unique opportunity for youth to create and perform with the guidance of professional theatre artists! Participants get the chance to be introduced to a professional theatre process including auditions, rehearsals, and performances.
THE SHOW: Participants in our summer camps will perform in the Downtown Detective Trail shows an exciting interactive addition to our mainstage murder mystery: Who Killed the King!
ABOUT THE DOWNTOWN DETECTIVE TRAIL: Starting from the Globus Theatre Box Office at 90 Bolton Street, the 45-minute-long trail takes audience members throughout Bobcaygeon’s downtown. Perfect for families of all ages, audience members will follow a set of clues, some of which were performed live by Globus Theatre’s Summer Performance Camp youth participants.
Camp Fees
We want to ensure that youth arts programming is accessible to all. The camp fees are subsidized for everyone but if your child or a child you know would love to participate, but may not be in the financial position to, please let us know as full subsidies are avaliable and participation can be at no charge!
Thanks to funding provided by the Bobcaygeon Legacy CHEST Fund, bursaries & scholarships are available through Globus Theatre’s First Act program to ensure that all youth and children have the opportunity to participate in creative programming both at our camps and at our classes throughout the year.

Dates, Times, and Details
Summer Performance Camp Rehearsals - time TBD
Camp participants will be required to audition to acquire a spot and then attend rehearsals based on availability prior to the camp.
The audition/interview will allow us to note the participants interests and capabilities so we can create the perfect part especially for them!
The rehearsals will be focused on the process, creation & exploration of the script, casting and rehearsing the clues that will be downtown Bobcaygeon.
Camp Week 1: Monday, July 22 to Friday, July 26 | Camp Week 2: Monday, July 29 to Friday, August 2
Our camps are half days from 12:30-4:30pm. Campers are welcome to register for Week 1 & 2, or either just Week 1 or Week 2.
A typical day at camp:
Welcome, outdoor game, check-in, brief rehearsal before the performance, warm up & get into costume, & then walk to a performance location close to our downtown studio in Bobcaygeon.
When audience members come to the performance location, participants will get into character and perform a clue to help the audience solve a mystery!
After 1 hour of performing, participants will walk back to the studio to get out of costume, reflect on their day and be led in other drama-related activities: improv with our SODA faculty members, interview a Globus Theatre company member, help with marketing and promotion of the DDT on social media!
Participants will be supervised by a camp counselor!
